Des Moines Young Artists' Theatre is located at Franklin Jr. High, an exciting new project at the historic building at 48th and Franklin in Beaverdale.

The building was built as Franklin Jr. High in 1951 and was later used as First Federated Church and Des Moines Christian School. In 2018, Jeff Young from We Can Build It purchased it with a dream: preserving history and building community. He embarked on a multi-million dollar renovation project that will turn the 213,000 square foot building into a boutique hotel, entertainment venue, event space and nonprofit offices.

The building features two performance auditoriums, a cafeteria, two gymnasiums and so much more--all located at the intersection of three neighborhoods.
